Chemistry Project Ideas

Balloons and Chemical Reactions

To some people, the only chemistry project ideas worth doing are the ones where you blow something up. Well, Good-Science-Fair-Projects.com only has safe projects – but in this project we will blow something up – but not how you are thinking...

Let's do science...

The project – step by step

This project is all about chemical reactions. Even though the experiment is a whole stack of fun to do, you can still learn a lot about chemistry, and at the same time blow away the judges with how much you know about chemistry – don't stress, I will explain it all...

The question
What happens in a chemical reaction?

The hypothesis
In a chemical reaction, other substances are created from the original substances used in the reaction.

The experiments

  • What a gas!

Why this experiment? This experiment is a great example of seeing a chemical reaction in progress – and it is safe and fun!

    The conclusion
The experiment proves the hypothesis. You started with a powder (baking soda) and a liquid (vinegar) and during the chemical reaction a gas was produced. Wow!
