Taking a pulse
Take the wrist of the person who is having his / her pulse tested and turn it so that the palm of the hand is facing up.With your index finger and your middle finger, press softly just to the side of the bones in the wrist.(The other place is to check in the on the neck near the jugular vein.)Either way, you should feel the pulse - count how many pulses there are in 10 seconds (for this you will obviously need a watch or stopwatch).Multiply this number by 6 to give you a figure for pulse per minute.
